Pretty things using vellum

I made this long box using the Floral romance speciality paper in the Spring /Summer 2019 catalogue. I used my Stampin trimmer which has a scoring blade to score the sides of the vellum box, these are 7cm wide and if you are using the 12x12 vellum paper - it is 30cm and so you have 2cm left over for the overlap. I recommend using double side tape to attach the box as PVA types of glue may slip about a bit on the vellum. Then the bottom and lid of the box are made using the same measurements except you stick the bottom on and leave the lid so you can open the box!. For this you need a square piece of card that is 13cm x 13cm and you score around all four sides at 3cm. Then fold the score lines and cut into the side pieces to make a flat that you can glue back to make the sides . For the frill on top of the box I folded a strip of paper that was 30cm long and 8cm wide in half lengthways and the cut from the folded edge towards the raw edge just stopping short in small increments around 2.5mm. And then I rolled yup and glued it in place fluffing out the ends. I made a hole on the middle of the box and slotted the frill into the top and put a bit of PVA glue to keep it in place.

The above photo shows some stationery made with the papers. I used the envelope punch board for the envelope and the liner and I made a border for the invite (at the back) with the designer paper. I then put a band of vellum around both. The bad is secured a the front and then disguised using the oval die cut. The leaf is cut with the wonderful floral frame lit dies but the flower cut die with the scroll is die cut using the Well written framelit dies.

This lovely bag was made with the gift bag punch board. I used the medium size bag. Then I decorated it with stamp images from wonderful romance stamp set die cut with matching frame lits and coloured with watercolour pencils and blender pen. The ribbon is called burlap ribbon and is in the main catalogue item 141487.
I must sort out some links from my blog to the shop to make it easier to order things.! I'm a bit of techno -phobe about this kind of thing it just makes me freeze up!

These are the designer series papers they are 12x12 and you get 3 sheets of the pink vellum and the flower vellum and 3 sheets of the pink pattern paper with green on reverse and 3 of the green pattern with wood effect on the reverse. Altogether 12 sheets.  £ 13.00. item code 148586.

Here is a close up of the decoration I used pink glitter card for the flower - no longer available.

This is a photo of the card made in yesterday's blog and a variation on the stationery. The stationery could easily be adapted for invitations with an envelope for the recipient to send their RSVP. Hopefully to say they are coming!

Valentines day is coming along and I can think of nothing worse than this over commercialised event to make me feel romantic. So instead I like to be romantic as much of the time as I can, so hearts and flowers all year around!!
