No Internet Cold Turkey
I have been off line while changing Internet provider so not posted for nearly a month!!
I have been very busy decorating my house ready for a sale when the spring arrives - I hope! I was not planning for 'decorating' to include the craft room but then .....I spotted this lovely shelf unit and Si made me some cubes to match underneath and the paper partitions to measure with a little drawer for my framelit and thinlit dies and space for ink bottles under ....and then I moved the old shelves out and discovered the wallpaper ripped behind ...soooo needed to wallpaper and then it looked so shabby it all needed painting! So I ended up with a complete craft room refurb and boy did I chuck a lot out! I am now a very much slimmed down version of the craft room - so much so I can get my rocking chair in and Aggi - my mums old dressmaking model. (fondly known as Agatha - Aggi for short). Its great having such a clever man to make made to measure cabinets and paint them to match!
I made some new curtains for my daughters bedroom as the old ones went off to University with the old ones - so these are making her old room much cosier considering it is cold and raining outside!
I also have been to the knitting and stitching show in Olympia London. I had just the very best day out and also I spotted a lady who looked very familiar and later while watching the Sewing Bee on TV on Tuesday night realised that the lady I had accosted with 'I know you don't I?' near the material stalls was in fact Mercedes who sadly was out this week. She did look a bit amused I recall but I didn't place her at the time! She must have had that happen to her all day.
I bought a couple of hunks of material - the grey with white stitching above to make the curtains was one purchase and I also bought a couple of kits as below. The Japanese embroidery was a class I did on the day and was most relaxing and I have actually finished it now - a very simple and pleasant stitching activity at the busy show and finished off at home - So easy Si did a bit while I went to put the kettle on. The little bear hoop is so far not touched and the chessboard black stitch / cross stitch combo is started and Work in Progress. I have had my eye on this kit for about 6 years and resisted and this time I could resist no more!!
I am going to show case some of the things I have been making over the next week. I made a few samples for my classes this month which are now sadly all booked up.
Sale a bration has been going very well with Stampin Up sales and in fact so well lots and lots has sold out. Just goes to show you have to buy it when you see it because it has been flying out of the warehouse. In fact a few people are going a bit mad and buying up main catalogue and Spring/Summer catalogue items also by speculating what may go out of the catalogue when the new one arrives in May. The retirement list is up for a look in Mid April but usually by the time I publish the retirement list it is all gone gone gone. So the lesson to learn is if you want it go for it now because it may disappear soon (if it hasn't already).
I'm so glad I got the sale-a-bration add on cutters that go with the frog stamps and the cupcake.
See you soon with more projects
