Getting the crafting off to a new start

I had quite an interesting day today because I wanted to make some cards with a particular stamp set and I have not tried out working in my new craft room which is now shared with Si as a study (although I noticed mostly my craft stuff!). It took all day to get going and I wanted to create something really pretty so I had set myself a tricky goal.

I used the 'Beautiful You' stamp set which my lovely friend Cayleigh May gave to me as a present and it is a wooden set, which I treasure because Stampin' Up don't make wood sets anymore. I have wanted to make some cards with this set for ages. I also used some lovely papers that I won in a raffle before I moved to Devon at my friend Rachael's monthly workshop in Southsea. The papers are called 'See a Silhouette' Designer Series Paper (DSP) I love the jewel colours and marbled patterns they are so rich!

The images are stamped once onto 'very vanilla' cardstock and once onto the DSP and then I cut the clothes part out of the DSP using scissors (fussy cut) and glued them on the top of the images stamped onto the very vanilla cardstock. I use this technique a lot but if you wanted you could colour the images with watercolours or with pens.

Below are a couple of images of the inside of the cards ready to write a message.

I cut around some of the images using stitched dies - some I used the rectangle ones , some squares, circles and ovals. I have a collection they come in handy!

I finished off the cards with small gold metallic pearls or with thin golden thread. I also used some charms (bird ballard trinkets).

I hope you like the cards check out the matching envelopes!

Tomorrow is the launch of the new Autumn/Winter catalogue and my order will also be delivered by UPS (Mr/Mrs Brown as we call them at Stampin' Up!)
