22nd August 2024

I was just reading my last post and my Blog generally and realise it is terribly out of date!

The main reason I have written this post is that Stampin' Up have announced that they are going to be doing a scrapbooking offer. I am elated as I was missing my scrapbooking and workshops and generally getting together with people and having a fantastic day.

I have been travelling all the way to Purbrook where I grew up 3 hours drive away from Devon where I live now (and that it on a good day with the wind behind me and no holiday makers on the road! ) to take part in Creative Memories scrapbooking workshops. (There is only one person who you can buy products from in the EU and CM is quite expensive). I have been unable to run my own workshops by the fact that Stampin' Up do not have a decent scrapbooking offering - but it looks like starting next week they will!!

On this website I will need to update my article about the best scrapbooking products.

I will reveal more as the products start to come out. I believe they will include 12 x 12 (30cm x 30cm) scrapbook, page protectors, flip-flap pages (which are extra smaller bits you can flap on to your 12 x 12 pages for an extra photo or two) and 12 x 12 coloured card in individual colour packs and scrapbooking kits. It's all a lovely surprise and is coming out with some speed.

It seems that the cardstock will  be white core in stamping up colours with different shades on each side of the page. I will return with some information.

In the meantime I am taking some time to re-organise my blog, also start on some new video content on YouTube.  I am hoping to get some technical help from my Stampin' Up Team leaders as I know otherwise this will bog me down. I will also be getting the local hall booked up with some Saturday workshops and sharing scrapbooking layouts and hints and tips. Stampin' Up are also planning to do some online workshops.

The photo above is some tags I made for a challenge of what to do with the Ephemera packs in the new annual catalogue. I was not a fan when they dropped into my post box. However I did manage to make a great many paper craft items with the pack. This was shared with our Stampin' Up Team who placed the challenge. I like our zoom team meetings we make a couple of cards and someone undertakes a challenge. This time it was me. It is called 'make me want it.' Im not sure if it will make you want it - here are some more photos of the things I made - there was not much left except a few sentiments and maybe two little bits!!

cased from a card by Jenni Pauli see next 2 photos for front and inside details

Front of card above detail

Inside card detail - layers of card separated with foam pads (now you know why I had so many tags using the middle bits)

Some shaker tags and other 3 D tags/keyrings

Some party favours - to fill with Skittles and pegs for party bags

What was left of the 4 sheets !!

Confusingly I wrote a blog post in January which I only just noticed I had not published - so I published it today! I have done quite a bit over the last 8  months, I did change the craft room back to inside and the gym back to outside (I really should use the gym I have not gone in there - its more a shrine to what I could do if I could get up earlier in the morning - it looks amazing though lol!) The craft room looks great and everything is within easy reach. It is quite a small space that is used for a home office, studying as well as sewing and paper crafting. There is not much desk space but surprisingly it seems to work and there is plenty of room for some ornaments, plants and books as well. I admit there is a stash of stuff upstairs in a very big cupboard that I don't use very much, as well as a shelf full of scrapbooks. My plan is to gradually use up the old supplies and finish off a number of quilting and sewing projects. I will probably always have a cupboard upstairs!

I have been studying and learning about plants and plant medicine, I have been making a hand embroidered quilt, a bit of crochet and card making. I went on holiday to Dubai when they had all of the flooding and I have enjoyed visiting my two girls who have both moved into new homes 2 to 3 hours drive away, started keeping bees and going to monthly scrapbooking workshops with friends. Months have gone past!  This week we are having a week off to do home jobs which mainly involved the garden and rubbing down and painting the windows and outside of the house - but rain has stopped play today so I am doing some much needed catching up. I have to say I also spend a lot of time mooching about doing not very much at all or even worse organising what I should be doing instead of doing it. I also watch a lot of fitness videos and don't go into my lovely gym but thank goodness I have a dog who makes me get out for a walk everyday rain or shine. (In the West Country mostly rain)

Plant foraging - Rosebay willow herb, Plantain, Pineapple weed, Meadowsweet, St Johns Wort
Such a flattering beekeeping suit accessorised with inside hood pink peak cap, rubber gloves and wellies The funny thing is our bees are really friendly and we probably don't need to wear the suit but the thought of being stung ......

North end by the door - showing herbs drying rack
East side of craft room-plans to put some embroidery on the wall.
It is a very small room.
I also picked some colours and ordered some new ink pads as my old ones did not come back to normal after rescuing them from the cabin outside. I think they were just too cold.
These are my the colours I decided to stay with. I have ink in 18 colours and settled on 5 cardstock colours. However I will, with the news of scrapbooking papers buy some more to check them out and see what they are like - for the main part I don't use a lot of cardstock for scrapbooking or papers, so I will be using up old stash first as my card although a little bit soggy at first has dried out OK following its cabin days.
In case you are interested in which were my 5 favourite colours here they are:

I have used the 'Keeping Tabs' stamp set and co-ordinating Tab maker punch to get things organised. I used an ordinary hole punch to punch the holes in the tags. This is a great way to organise my colours so I can use them to select different colour combinations. Very old fashioned but I like to see them in my hand.

I picked some further ink pads mostly ones that survived the cabin to use for Autumn, Christmas and Plant Scrapbooking (I scrapbook as a way of studying) These are the total colours I have in inks now.

I also made some tabs for my A4 card organisation.
I look forward to finding out more about the Stampin' up new scrapbooking products and will be excited to be back next week with some more details.
The rain has stopped and my dog is asking me to take him out - how can I resist!

Happy Crafting JoPxx
