Puzzle Cards - Mosaic Madness

Image
To keep friends entertained I sent out some little cards a couple of weeks ago and had such a lovely response - its so nice keeping in touch and receiving bits and bobs in the post isn't it! The above card was some retired butterfly paper which had the added bonus of being able to be coloured in once assembled. The puzzle had to be built before changing it into a card. I had taken the photo of another puzzle card I sent out using the mosaic madness paper  but lost the photo so here is the photo on the instructions!- this has a lovely plastic feel to it so it feels like mosaic and made a great puzzle - use the puzzle dies to make this- makes any picture or photograph into a puzzle - I use it a lot! (see past christmas cards) This set also has lovely little flower charms to go with it. I have now run out of all mini glue dots but these were self adhesive so great to send out with the puzzle kits.  Mosaic Madness is the choice of bundle to go with and I think its a really good choice

Day 7 Dino

Image
I got a little bit braver for day 7 and put two dinos onto a dino covered background paper. I pinched the sentiment from another stamp set called 'Animal Outing' because I wanted to make some thank you cards and I was making a whole bunch of cards using the animal outing set. (which I will put up on my blog for tomorrow.) Here are a few more I made for the hall supplies as they are getting low! I have a boxful at our hall lobby so people can come and get them rather than go out shopping. I have a few orders as well!! Happy Easter everyone! JoPx

Dino Day 6

Image
A baby dino card today for Dino Day 6 ! The egg die is in the Dino dies set as well as the sentiment making this set more versatile than ever! I love the scales background cutter and the little circles stamp can be used to make an effect on the egg as well as on the dinosaurs. The bottom egg piece I only glued around the outside curve and this allows the dino to lift out! After the card is long gone the recipient can use the dino on another project - maybe a cool bookmark? It is our last day of Dino's tomorrow and I have really enjoyed doing a whole week of these and have done lots more at home also including bookmarks. I am wondering whether to pick another set of papers and bundle for next week.  I could do either Mosaic Madness or Silhouette Scenes - please comment or contact me if you have a preference and I will do it. I am getting used to using the designer series papers in my card making and both of these sets have the most delicious designer series paper in them. I could al

Dino Day 3

Image
This dino is very cute - he has not photographed that well - apologies as the Rocco rose colour has come out fairly dark. For this card use a white card blank and designer series paper to make the background and use the stamps and dies to make a dinosaur and his 'spikes', use the circles die to cut out some background and mat the white onto some co-ordinating cardstock with dimensions to make that background have depth. Stamp the sentiment in the set and some extra stamped circles on Dino's back. I gave this dino a black felt pen eye and smile.  He looks happy!  JoP x

Dino week Day 2

Image
It is day two of Dino cards!! I love these little guys and the format is similar for all of the cards this week and I have made even more variations since I put these 7 days together. I especially like that I am using up patterned papers. I put the cards at our local hall for people during corona virus and the dinosaur ones went like hot cakes!  Instructions for this card: White card blank is 14cm x 21cm folded in half. Cut designer series paper 13.5cm x 10cm White card for focal point is 7cm x 10cm and a pink (melon mambo) mat cut 10.5cm x 7.5cm Cut 3 x triangles die pieces in the top of the white card and stamp sentiment in melon mambo ink. Adhere the white card to the pink mat using dimensionals (foam pads) Stamp flying dino in crushed curry ink and stamp on 'v' shaped detail in melon mambo ink. Use a black felt pen to make the eye black. Adhere to card I made a smudge on this card in pink at the bottom right of the card and so I remedied this with a carefully placed leaf fr

Dino Week!!

Image
Day one of Dino week. Dino cards made using the lovely Dino bundle - a stamp set and dies. Check out my kit in a box page for a special offer on extra bits and pieces I will throw in with the bundle to make 6 cards, including dino designer series papers. Of course you can use the kit however you like and I already have an idea on another way to use it - so that will be on my blog at the end of the week. I'm also going to work hard on seeing if I can post a short video to go with it. Its not easy as I will have to do it all on my phone, including editing and it has to be quite short to enable me to upload it as I do not have fast broadband in the area I live in and so I have to sit outside the co-op and upload!!  For this card here are some instructions: Fold cardstock in half (card base measures 14cm x 21cm and folded in half. Card size is 14cm x 10.5cm) Cut designer series paper to 0.5cm smaller - so measures 13.5cm x 10cm.  Using the triangles cut-out die cut out two pieces in a

Romance is in the Air

Image
If you have ordered or received my January Big Shot box of goodies to go along with the Wonderful Romance bundle then your wait for instructions for the projects is now over! In todays blog I am going to show the 3 cards and bookmark projects that you have the additional bits and pieces of card to make in your box and tomorrow's blog I am going to show some other projects that I made using this wonderful bundle and the speciality designer series paper and seals and flower embellishments that are also in this Suite. The whole suite along with the embossing folder and cardstock pack is on pages 10 to 11 of the 2019 Spring Summer catalogue. Before I go into details of the three cards and bookmark I would like to divulge my creative process when making these so you too can enjoy using this method: When I received this stamp set I first took some whisper white card and stamped all of the images in the stamp set and some images more than once so I had a whole A4 sheet of imag

January punch box samples - how to

Image
If you ordered these already - lucky you because they are so popular they have gone out of stock, we are expecting them back in March however. For those who purchased the bundle from me here is the tutorial that goes with the box! This card is made by folding a card base in daffodil yellow cardstock. Make a back ground by cutting some of the Gingham Gala paper slightly narrower than the cardstock and then carefully tear along the bottom so there is room to stamp the sentiment from the stamp set. Before you glue the gingham paper to the card base tie some of the organza ribbon around the bottom - tip - put a small glue dot at the back to keep it in place. When you are stamping the butterflies it really helps to do a large batch in one go and then you can adhere them to all of your projects. Stamp the butterfly duo in memento black ink and then using inks to match your papers (I used daffodil delight, lemon lime twist and grapefruit grove) Stamp the background colours using

Alpine Adventures - Ski's make a Fence

Image
I keep raving about this set - Another way to use those little ski's and the sled in the set is as a fence. So the set can be utilized outside of Christmas making it a better investment. Those little weeny flower images in the set, along with the bows in the thinlits and the presents can all be utilised throughout the year. I love it when you get more from your craft investment! The skis and the top of the sled images already have wood grain and so they make the most splendid fence. On this card the wreath looks fab hung over the top! Don't forget to stamp up your envelopes. The snowflake image below has not been used in any of the cards but is another really lovely image in this same sent. I also used the border stamped image on the envelopes. Also check out the ski's image being used as intended on this card. Those wreaths are irresistible to use whenever there is a hook! JoP x

Alpine Adventures Continued - Sleighs!

Image
Todays three cards using Alpine Adventures bundle are all sleighs or sleds! The wreath in the set is a very sweet image that comes with a matching thinly that cuts out the centre. While you have the set out, stamp out a whole pile of images and sentiments in soft suede, poppy parade, granny apple green and tranquil tide. Cut them out with the thinlits and you can rearrange on the front of the card until you find an arrangement that you like. Presents, holly, snowflakes and a wreath give you lots and lots of options - let alone the ski's and snowshoes! I came up with 7 combinations Lots of inspiration for using this set. JoP x

Some more Alpine Adventures

Image
This set is so good and designs look fabulous on the new whisper white narrow notecards and envelopes. However, if you want a larger card, you could use the design and mount the white onto a larger red or green card. As with Candy Cane set, I chose this set as I think you can make a whole piles of cards with it. This time I came up with 7 variations! Some are featured today and some in next couple of days. Out of the two cards featured today I like the sleigh with the snowflake card the very best. See below. The Beauty of Alpine Adventures set is there are lots of different images available. I can see the set getting lots of use after Christmas when I am making scrapbook pages of winter also. I have used the red rhinestones a lot on the cards I am featuring with this set. JoP x

Alpine Adventure - cutest 'inchy' box

Image
This tiny little inch square box is one of the freebie projects in this month's Big Shot bundle . See my monthly bundles page for more details. All of the above goodies are available to make 3 cards and the baby sleigh when you purchase the bundle from me. This stamp set and matching thinlits is the least expensive big shot bundle in the Seasonal Catalogue and it is so lovely and versatile! The stamp set has sentiments and images and a border I have totally fallen in love with and used on all of the cards I have featured in the next few days. And the thinlits include holly, snowflake and two sledge images. Also check out a later post for an alternative way to use the ski's image and thinlit!  I used a strip of the Candy Cane Season designer series paper to crap the box and bent the sleigh cut with the thinlits to make it 3D. I also bent the snowflake on top of the little present to make it look 3D and put a rhinestone in the middle. I secured it to the top o

Candy Cane Card 2

Image
Yesterday I featured one of the cards from my monthly bundles offer. Today is another great all-round card to make using the bundle and the freebies I send to you when you buy the bundle from me. This card uses the snowflake background stamp in the set. I have stamped it in pool party ink and the candy canes I have stamped using a combination of the words and the striped stamps red ink. I have stamped over the words with the outline candy cane stamp in black ink. The bow as before in pool party ink with an outline stamp in black ink. I love the detail in this bow. All are punched using the candy cane punch.  I have mounted the canes onto some of the flocked striped designer series paper called 'Santas Workshop' and then mounted this again onto red card (poppy parade). Then mount onto a red base card.  I really like the simplicity and boldness of this set and there is one more design I want to show you tomorrow. JoP x

Sewing Kit

Image
This is another cute project that I have made with the Apron of Love stamp set and the materials to make it are included in the Featured Monthly Bundles free kit - see Featured Monthly Bundles - including the actual sewing bits to put inside! The Designer series paper was cut to around 5cm wide and the end placed in the Everyday label punch which was used to cut the pretty edge. and a cut added into the opposite side of the paper freehand with pointed scissors for the fastening. The scissors are cut from the thinlits with a rectangle of pink card which is the apron pocket from the thinlits. Just add some bakers twine and a faceted button and you are done! JoP

Apron of love with no apron

Image
This card is made with the Apron of love stamp set but there is not an apron in sight, which goes to show what a versatile set it is.  A pink card stock base with some designer series paper and a band of white card stamped with the stems in green and flower tops in pink from the set. Decorate with green ribbon and some of the flowers in the framelits and some rhinestones. Also note the cute edging from the apron thinlits makes a cute green scalloped edge at the top. This card needed 3 of the cut edges and these were slightly overlapped so you can't see the join. Finish with a sentiment from the same set and a row of small rhinestones. Simple and pretty. The materials to make this card come free when you order the stamp set and the co-ordinating thinlits from me. Use the hostess code on left hand side of the page when you order. See my Monthly featured Bundles p age for more information JoP
