Keep Calm and Wag On

Image
I hope this little card brings a smile to your face! I have just made 75 to post around the neighbourhood with my telephone number. However most people around here are pretty used to being fairly isolated and shop in bulk as the local small shop is 6 miles away, and bigger stores further still. In any case its lovely to see the occasional dog walker when I am out with Wallace and nature has brought us some fabulous sunshine - I do hope you get the opportunity to sit out somewhere. My much larger garden is producing all kinds of plants that I don't know what they are and I am enjoying seeing them coming up and identifying them. We started out with swathes of snowdrops under the weeping willow, then early daffodils and crocus. Now there are primroses mostly yellow along the hedgerows but every colour you can think of in the garden. I also have a flowering Camelia - I am writing it all down in my notebook so I can remember and don't accidentally pull anything up. There are a...

Candy Cane - Card 3

Image
This is the third card from the monthly bundles freebies. I have used the snowflakes background stamp from yesterday again but this time behind the white main image on the card. I have also used the hoho background stamp from two days ago blog post to make the background to the main image.  This time I have stamped the sentiment 'tis the season' and adhered it to the side of the image for a bit of quirkiness! I have not finished yet with this bundle so check back tomorrow for the sweet little gift box with lid. TIP: If you are making a whole stack of these cards and gift boxes it is worth making a whole bunch of candy canes and bows to rearrange on the top of your cards. Having a pile of images will also give you lots more design options to play with. Have fun with changing the cards around. JoP x

Candy Cane Card 2

Image
Yesterday I featured one of the cards from my monthly bundles offer. Today is another great all-round card to make using the bundle and the freebies I send to you when you buy the bundle from me. This card uses the snowflake background stamp in the set. I have stamped it in pool party ink and the candy canes I have stamped using a combination of the words and the striped stamps red ink. I have stamped over the words with the outline candy cane stamp in black ink. The bow as before in pool party ink with an outline stamp in black ink. I love the detail in this bow. All are punched using the candy cane punch.  I have mounted the canes onto some of the flocked striped designer series paper called 'Santas Workshop' and then mounted this again onto red card (poppy parade). Then mount onto a red base card.  I really like the simplicity and boldness of this set and there is one more design I want to show you tomorrow. JoP x

New Ways with Punches

Image
Do you love when you can get more out of your punch. As if this little circle tab punch was not clever enough and can be used along with the matching stamp set to label just about everything, here is a little way you can get some extra wellie out of your punch! I admit I did stare at the punch for quite a long time before I cam up with this one ...... but here it is!  Now - does that look at bit like a fish to you? Well it did to me and the photo shows how to cut it. You cut the tab out as normal first and then reinsert as show to get the tail! Ta Dah! See the card I made with it and the stamp set below.  Just as an extra bonus the punch also provides quite good corner rounding capability. So if you don't have a corner rounder handy use it as shown! Here is a card I made with the fishes and I used the stamps to stamp out happy birthday fishes at the bottom and the little crowns look so cute as party hats - I just roughly cut around these with scissors. I would...
