Making Shadow Boxes - Ocean Themed

Image
My little craft room has a fishy theme with fish curtains and pictures and so when I saw the Whale of a Time stamp set with matching punch in the catalogue I had a little think about how to use it to decorate. The papers that go with the set make great backgrounds. Of course - The set can also ne used to make cards. The card above is a small square notecard and I made it using the papers cur into waves following the lines of the pattern by hand - then I stuck the paper so that I could hide the little whale down into the card. Then I made 8 little note cards and decorated envelopes to match. I used two shadow box frames joined on one side with magnet closures at the other to make a cute box to present them in.  I may need to put something across the corners as they keep falling out! I have made a video on how to make the shadow box frames and box but I am waiting for a visit to a friend to be able to upload it as my internet is lacking!!  Take care  JoP x

More Mosaic Projects

mac2604 I cannot help it! I love the mini curvy keepsakes box and it really looks cute in this paper alongside the notebook and pen! I cut the spare butterfly from the papers they're are so many images to cut out in the mosaic and the beads are tied to the end of the crinkle ribbon which is light and silky. I covered the notebook and also cut a butterfly and used a little vintage frame from long time ago stampin up stash and a strip of paper rolled up and inserted into the pen so it all matches. The notebook has a catch at the side made from a folded piece of paper for the pen to latch onto. The notepad was from Wilkinsons and about 22p so I have bought about 100 and often send to friends as gifts. I have now bought the larger size notepads too- they are great for students and gardeners. I'm onto a different stamp set next - going to use my See A Silhouette stamp set and papers - the stamp set and dies are not retiring but the papers are - Im going to buy some spare papers alon

The Golden Honey Papers in their pristine black white and gold said 'office stationery ' to me and so I used them together with the Honey Bee stamp set and Detailed Bee dies to make some coasters, a gift box holding 6 notecards and envelopes, a post it note holder and a cute giant paperclip topper. I put the photo onto a Facebook page that is for Stampin' Up demonstrators today and was totally overwhelmed by the response and requests for instructions on how to make the post it note holder - so I have quickly put this post together and it is mostly a photo show of the instructions because that was the fastest way I could do it! To make this desktop holder you will need some basic black cardstock. The holder has been made to fit post it notes that measure 3 x 3 inches. I originally made it around the post it notes in and cut in centimetres - So I have taken the original box apart and measured it all and have put some photographs of the measurements and how to put it to
