Some Memorable Mosaic projects

Image
This little bookmark was made using the mosaic papers and the beads shown in close up below. They are rolled pieces of the designer series papers and the dots are also punched from the paper with 3/4 inch and 1/2 inch circle punches - which are very useful and unfortunately retiring on 2nd June - the good news is they are currently available at a discount on my online shop! yea - see yesterdays post for a link to retirement list OR just type in the order codes or circle punch in the shop search! I have made kits and they are going out in the post today to some of my friends and customers. This paper lends itself to rolling beads I have decorated the envelopes using the stamp set and sat in the garden to stamp these as the craft room is north facing and cold and outside is sunny - so no competition. I will be doing the same today as it is sunny in Devon today as soon as I have been to the post office!! Tomorrow some more projects that are not cards with this mosaic paper and beads - so ...

Balloon Tags

Image
It struck me that the little label dies in the Bonanza Die set would make really nice tags for balloons at a children's party. If the balloons are helium you could also weight them. I have used some fake balloons in this photograph because I don't actually have a party lined up at the moment with balloons - but I actually like the look of them on my craft room wall so they are staying there as wall art for the time being!!  I cut the Tag shaped die from the set and decorated each with a strip of designer series paper along the bottom (just use up your scraps) Then I punched some 3/4 inch diameter circles using the circle punch and wrote with a sharpie pen each letter of the persons name. Then I decorated the rest of the tag with the stamped and die cut images from the Bonanza Buddies suite. Dont forget the mini pompoms on the top of their party hats!  Is there anything else I can do with this set? Well ..... yes of course - after the party the photos will need...

3 Tags using pigment sprinkles background

Image
A lovely technique to try out is using the Pigment Sprinkles to make lovely splurgy backgrounds. To undertake this technique you will need watercolour paper as it is going to get soggy!! It is also a good idea to have some kitchen roll handy. I put one sheet of kitchen roll on my work surface and spritz some water using a spritz bottle onto the water colour tag (This has already been cut into a tag shape using the tag die in the Bonanza Buddies suite. The tag already has a hole and a stitched edge so it is all ready to go). Then I used the Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight Pigment Sprinkles which are in a set of 6 different colours of watercolour crystals that activate when they touch the water in the paper. This is a fun process as you can watch the sprinkles spread out across the paper. IF you want them to spread out more you can simply spritz more water and you can tip the paper up and roll the water around. Then dab the paper with a paper towel if it is getting too...

Koala Shaker Card and Matching Gift Bags and Tags

Image
x  I really like the Birthday Bonanza Stamp set and having dies to match is a bonus! The dies don't just cut out the little animals. There is a lion, a toucan and a Koala in this set!  They also cut out some banners as you can see in this photo, and a tag which is really handy for cards and tags. I used the tag die to cut the aperture in this shaker card. I cut out the 'Happy Birthday' greeting by hand - I just followed the curves of the sentiment. If you spend £45.00 during Sale-a-bration you can choose something from the Sale-a-bration offering for FREE and I chose the Metallic Bakers Twine and Sequins Combo Pack to go with this set. The sequins are striped and in blue, yellow and orange and so they go really well and the bakers twine is sparkly in blue and yellow. The sequins are my shaker 'fodder' in this card.  The best image in the Birthday Bonanza set has to be the tiniest one - which is the little fluff ball or star image. You can see it on this c...
