Repurpose Stuff

Image
Remember this tag? Here is the original front   And the back.......... I kept the original tag on show around the border. Remove the piece of cord first. The Kraft card look goes really well with reds and green so I selected some of my Stampin' Up stash of new christmas paper called Santa's Workshop and cut a rectangle out to cover the back glued on with PVA glue. If you flip the tag over you can see where the hole is for the cord and can line up a hole punch and re punch the hole. Then work on what will be the front of the tag. I cut another rectangle for the front and repeated punching the hole again and then threaded back the cord. I utilised another piece of the Santas workshop paper to create the border piece at the bottom of the tag and cut out one of the flocked images of an elf and sign post on another of the papers and glued these to the front - I popped the elf up on a sticky foam pad.  Then I found a little baby pom pom in my craf...

Project Life hack with tabs for everything

Image
I made these cards to fit my Project Life album. I'm a scrapbooker mainly so always want to make my stamp sets do double duty. Here is the 6x4 inches and 3x4inches cards to fit the pockets. The grey squares show where the photos will go. This set is perfect for photographs as the sentiments are very generic for albums. I have used the punch and images as well as more word art around the border with stamped sentiments in different fonts and colours. There are so many sentiments in this set I am sure you will find just the ones you are looking for when you are scrapbooking your memories. My favourite is 'Happy Life' Happy Life! JoP

DIY and Projects on the go

Image
I love doing a bit of DIY and this weekend I am so proud of how my new curtains came out I decide to show them on my blog. I did make them and while there was some material left over made 6 matching seat pads. The dining room looks great. It has no pictures or cushions yet so I will enjoy sorting out some works of art over time to adorn the sofa bed and the walls! I am also working on a couple of other projects at the moment. Here are a couple of things lying on my craft desk. My knitted cardi is nearly finished - just fell in love with this wool from Nat King Cole. And I rescued this label from my boyfriend's new jeans. It looks to me like a label that needs a purpose - or repurposing!! Stay tuned as I am sure it will be posted on my blog when it is done! And just on the side is some black ribbon rescued from a dress I bought - it is the ribbon sewn under the armholes used by the shop to keep it on the hanger. Very lovely useful black ribbon! Enjoy the rest of your...

New Ways with Punches

Image
Do you love when you can get more out of your punch. As if this little circle tab punch was not clever enough and can be used along with the matching stamp set to label just about everything, here is a little way you can get some extra wellie out of your punch! I admit I did stare at the punch for quite a long time before I cam up with this one ...... but here it is!  Now - does that look at bit like a fish to you? Well it did to me and the photo shows how to cut it. You cut the tab out as normal first and then reinsert as show to get the tail! Ta Dah! See the card I made with it and the stamp set below.  Just as an extra bonus the punch also provides quite good corner rounding capability. So if you don't have a corner rounder handy use it as shown! Here is a card I made with the fishes and I used the stamps to stamp out happy birthday fishes at the bottom and the little crowns look so cute as party hats - I just roughly cut around these with scissors. I would...

Tag with a Tab

Image
The circle tab punch produces just the right little hanger for a piece of cord to attach to a tag. You can use one of the many cute images in this stamp set to create a background on a piece of rectangle white card. I used a piece of scrap card to mask off a diagonal line to serve as a guide while stamping the birthday cake image along in a pink row followed by green, then grey then yellow. The Happy and Birthday sentiments are in different fonts in the set and allow you to mix and match to make a little banner greeting on the tag which can be raised up with some foam pads. The materials to make this tag, the card and notebook and pen and another bonus card project are FREE when you purchase the Stamp set and the circle tab punch from me. Check on my shop to order the stamp and punch and the rest will follow in separate packaging. I hope you are having a lovely weekend. JoP

Note pad and Pen with tabs

Image
Continuing with the Tabs for everything stamp set and punch I have made a cute notebook with matching pen. The notebook features a velcro dot under the tab to keep your show stopping shopping needs nice and tidy!! The note book and pen are included in their 'raw materials' format to make the following little set of projects when you buy the stamp set and the co-ordinating punch from me. See under monthly featured bundles on the menu at the top of the page for more details. To cover the little notepad you need some pink card and this is wrapped around the notepad. The measurements will vary according to the size of your note pad and how much overlap you want but the trick is to measure and score your card burnishing with a bone folder - or I sometimes use a teaspoon which is quite effective. (If you go for the bundle package your card will be scored and ready to go.)  Then make three panels with black card matted with a pretty paper. The one I used is cal...

Word Collage with Tabs for Everything Stamp Set

Image
9 I have taken inspiration from a sign outside of our local Inn on the Beach for this card using the Tabs For Everything Stamp Set. These word collages are very on trend at the moment and there are so many images and words in the stamp set to play with. The images in the set are quite small and cute and lend themselves well to having lots of images on the same card. I have used a birthday theme with this card but the words and images would also support a baby card or a party invite or a general congratulations card. The Local Inn on the Beach Word Collage  The stamp set comes with a co-ordinating punch and is designed to make little tabs similar to the ones you find in a filing system. These are tabs with a difference because you can use them any way you like. The picture below shows the punch and the stamp set which is photopolymer and both feature as my September 'punch bundle kit' . If you go to my monthly bundles page you can see that I will be featuring a punch bun...
