You're the Best Catch - Ever!

Image
A lovely sentiment that is on a stamp set I have had for a year now. I have been looking through some of the stamp sets I already have for one suitable for Valentines Day. In the UK unlike the USA and Canada only one card is usually sent to your loved one and so it needs to be relevant and  meaningful. Sometimes also anonymous after all that was the original meaning of Valentines cards was a note to tell someone they had a secret admirer. At school it was a fun way to tell someone you fancied them but with a permanent lover in your life it is a way to acknowledge your appreciation even though the recipient is known. This card would definitely be great for a fisherman! I have one of those who would definitely appreciate this card. I made a embossed background with Coastal Weave embossing folder which is from the new Spring/summer mini catalogue. I bought it because I thought it looked basket weave and I could use on some Easter basket/boxes later. The little tiny bulldog ...

Valentines gift box

Image
I made this gift box using one of Stampiin'Up's mini pizza boxes. They have been designed so they are food safe and are the right size to hold a cookie. I made this box by cutting a bold shape out of the lid before assembly using a heart shaped die which is from the main catalogue dies called Be Mine framelit dies. (they were last years spring/summer mini catalogue. I kept them because I like the folk heart shape and there are tonnes of other dies in the set that co-ordinates with the Meant to Be stamp set. I'm glad I held on to it because I like it much more than this years heart shapes in the catalogue. It is still available on my shop and I have put some images below of the details of the sets designed to co=ordinate together.  To get the label the same colour as the box I stamped and cut the other pieces from the die off-cut.  The pizza boxes are also available and are flat packed but ready to make up and don't need any glue unless you want to seal them. Music Valentines

Image
Both of these two fabulous projects are made using the Music From the Heart Stamp Set. This is a stand alone set and includes images and some fancy script sentiments as well. The two projects I cased from other people. The piano card was actually made by a lady who is a million dollar achiever with Stampin' Up and she got to design her own stamp set as a reward. How cool is that. So she designed the stamp set as well as this lovely easel card. Her name is Dianne Olsen and she has a YouTube on how to make the card which I adjusted slightly to take into account that the European paper sizes are different to those in the USA. The gift box I cased from Ratzis Bastelkuche over on Instagram. Be sure to follow me on Instagram if you use it, I am under craftyjop or I am starting my own hash tag #joppy.co.uk These starmps are really cute I like the birds silhouettes and they can be used as musical notes!! I can't wait to design a few cards of my own using these. The cute box was ...

The Braided Bunch

Image
The Beautifully braided stamp set comes with some background grunge colouring in stamps - deliberately designed not to colour within the lines - so you will either love or hate this one!! What I love is that it is a stamp set that comes along with a punch (and a border punch at that !) You can see from the stamp image that the set has a very large flower image - and for this you will need a very large block - or you could use with the Stamparatus for fault free stamping. For my card I stamped the image at one side and then the background splurgesI then added a border using the border punch and once this was adhered to the card I stamped the border stamp next to it so it fitted into the curves. Finished with some sequins. There is a stamp image that can be directly stamped onto the punched out paper - more cards with this later in the week. For now this post is # stampinthroughthecatalogue or #STTC which is a challenge I am currently following with lots of examples of this stamp...

The Bonanza Buddies Together

Image
In this card I had all of the animals in the Bonanza Buddies stamp set join together and with some presents make a sweet birthday card with a tag cut aperture. The tag shape is from the the dies that go with the stamp set. The animals are adhered to the front of the card with dimensionals also and the Happy Birthday Sentiment and presents piled up on the bottom of the card. I love that the images of the presents also have the ribbons to match. There are no dies for the present / gift shapes but they are really easy to cut out by hand and it is likely you will place the ribbons in different places each time you stamp them up.  The tag shape was cut out of the Birthday Bonanza designer Series Paper. When the card is closed the tag sort of pops up. This is a view of the card inside. I think I have used all of the designs now in the designer series paper. If you didn't buy the paper you could easily make background paper using this stamp set. The papers will keep you in Bi...

3 Tags using pigment sprinkles background

Image
A lovely technique to try out is using the Pigment Sprinkles to make lovely splurgy backgrounds. To undertake this technique you will need watercolour paper as it is going to get soggy!! It is also a good idea to have some kitchen roll handy. I put one sheet of kitchen roll on my work surface and spritz some water using a spritz bottle onto the water colour tag (This has already been cut into a tag shape using the tag die in the Bonanza Buddies suite. The tag already has a hole and a stitched edge so it is all ready to go). Then I used the Bermuda Bay, Mango Melody and Daffodil Delight Pigment Sprinkles which are in a set of 6 different colours of watercolour crystals that activate when they touch the water in the paper. This is a fun process as you can watch the sprinkles spread out across the paper. IF you want them to spread out more you can simply spritz more water and you can tip the paper up and roll the water around. Then dab the paper with a paper towel if it is getting too...

Who can Toucan?

Image
I made this party bag using designer series paper from the Bonanza Buddies Suite and keeping with the idea of the candles I stamped the long present image and the end of the lions tail image to make the candle. Then I snipped the toucan's beak so that the candle is being held. For the bag handles I cut two stitched rectangles one inside the other.   The gift box is made with toucan images in the Designer Series paper pack that goes with this bundle. Did you know that some of these images can also be cut out using the co-ordinating dies- although no need to wast the paper if you have the stamp set! The toucan in the label is sitting on top of the pile of presents stamped in different colours and cut out by hand as such a simple shape to cut. The tag is one of the dies and I have stamped a background using the little confetti die which as I may have mentioned before is my favourite stamp in the set and I think I will be using it al over the place with other stamp sets als...
