Gardeners Gift

Image
This little gift set was made with a gardening friend in mind. It would make a great gift for Mothers Day also! The folder is made to house a large notebook and 6 seed packets and a matching pen. I covered the notebook in the DSP and cut elements out using the stamp set and dies. The little metal label is Stampin' Up metal element from a few years ago. I have left the writing on seed packets and notebook to the recipient of the present. The measurements for the folder are shown below.  The black dotted lines show score lines and striped area is cut out and the bold red line is a cut line. When you have snipped out the shaded piece you can make two small squares that are scored 0.5 inches on each side for the pen holders - there are 5 sides because two overlap and glue. Then glue onto the main piece as shown below.   The seed packet side is glued flat. The notebook side is glued with an extra fold at the bottom - this makes the seed packet pocket half and...

A holder for my music CDs

Image
I am a very bad saxophone student, and I noticed my CD's that go with my learn to play books and my reeds were getting very messy and along came the lovely Music from the Heart stamp set ..... so I made a little book to hold them. The above photograph is the front cover. Inside are pages with pockets that hold the CDs and the reeds. I have decorated some plastic CD covers and put them into the pockets to keep the CDs nice and clean. Generally when CD's come with music books they are in these little plastic covers stuck inside the cover of the book and they tend to get lost. They are also very cheap to buy on the internet and I had a pack of 100 and I use them to hold all of my spare die cuts inside each of my die cut folders and for prepared pieces for classes and for holding stamping dimensionals - they are very handy little covers!!!  The pages are made using the hinge system - You score a piece of card 6 inches wide every 1 inch and 1 inch and then half inch and...

Babywipe Technique

Image
The bee stamps and dies from Honey Bee stamp set were used on these two cards along with some paper from the 'See a Silhouette' designer series paper. The paper has some super colourful designs which I love love love and one of the designs has hexagons. I cut around some of the shape and added it to the card and then stamped using Babywipe technique. Babywipe technique is a technique where you make your own colourful ink pad using about 4 baby wipes folded in half inside a plastic sandwich container (the chinese takeaway type). You add drops of ink from your watercolour reindeer refits. I used 3 colours : night of navy, real red and daffodil delight. Drop the colours onto the baby wipe stack and they gradually spread out and join up to each other until the whole surface is covered. It is then ready to use as an ink pad. If you put the lid on your sandwich container this lovely ink pad lasts two to three days. TIP - when you are inking your stamps be sure to keep the stam...

Cute Easter or Baby

Image
Oh ! Did I have fun with these little animals from the 'Welcome Easter' stamp set. Its a very simple stamp set - there are no dies and no punches to match but the images a pretty easy to cut out if you want them to be mounted onto a card like these ones are.  Do you love colouring? I actually don't but I did manage to put a bit of colour onto these without going outside of the edges too much. I used Stamping Blends but you could use pencils, paints, chalks or just normal pens! All of the card use a frame cut using two dies from the 'Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies' If you have a die cutter these are a great BASIC for your die collection - I who them out quite often as the set includes squares, circles and ovals - so versatile. Great for framing up any images!  I have used a white card blank for all of the cards and also a white mat layer onto which I stamped a greeting from the stamp set.  The other thing I really like about this stamp set was that as w...

Over 1000 Reactions - Let It Ride

Image
I put this card onto the Stampin' Up Demonstrators facebook page and received such a great response! I was quite overwhelmed. Its a shame the people who loved it are all fellow demonstrators as this results in zero sales for me !! If only I could suss out how to bring my blog and my shop to card makers in the same way!  One of the reasons a lot of other demonstrators loved this card was that I used a stamp set that has been around in the main catalogue for quite a while called 'Let it Ride ' and teamed it with a die that has only recently come out of a gated arbour from a die set called Garden Gateway dies - I took the die and just cut off the arch leaving the gate and then glued one part of the gate directly to the card and the second gate on top but swung back with a little rope made of linen thread. A bit of very simple colouring using watercolour pencils. The little bird on the fence is also from the new stamp set Graces Garden that co-ordinates with the dies. ...

Musical Themed Cards

Image
I recently made a couple of my musical friends a birthday card. I used the lovely 'Music from the Heart ' stamp set and stitched squares from the "Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies' The background paper  is from the Peaceful Poppies DSP pack. I bought the little treble clef charms from E Bay! The card above I stitched a panel of Designer Series Paper to the card before adding the stamped and side cut images. Koala Bears - Australian Animals Fundraiser

Image
A lot of fun at our local hall this Sunday we held a fundraiser and raised £449 towards the Australian Animals care - as well as knitting some pouches at craft group. Above are some cards I made I made about 10 of each and used the Bonanza Buddies koala stamp and some dies from 'Sweet Silhouettes ' die set - all in crumb cake for a slightly more sophisticated card. The little piece of dandelion 'fluff' is from the stamp set 'Dandelion Wishes' Some friends and I also stamped a heap of these birthday Koalas - I may have shown these before we held the sale.
